American Hip Hop artist

Damien Reign

Damien Reign (born Gary Senkus on April 1, 1982) is an American hip-hop artist from Baltimore, Maryland, known for his raw storytelling and personal experiences. He also gained early recognition for his role as “Frog” in the acclaimed HBO series The Wire. At 21, Damien chose to step away from major recording opportunities with Sony and Def Jam to focus on raising his daughter as a single father, leading to a 17-year hiatus from the music industry. During this time, he worked on personal growth and healing while remaining connected to his roots in music. After overcoming significant personal challenges, including struggles with addiction and mental health, Damien returned to music with a fresh perspective, channeling his pain and resilience into his work. His music addresses themes of depression, emotional pain, and mental illness, often reflecting his own life experiences. In 2022, he released his debut album The Suicide Love Letters, featuring collaborations with artists such as Krayzie Bone and Layzie Bone of Bone Thugs-N-Harmony, Young Buck, Yukmouth, and Pink Elefants.
